CVARC

The 146.625 (Mt. Pleasant W1BD) repeater is, and will be “off the air” for an undetermined time.  Our Repeater Technician, Allen Wilde [N1IOE], suspected the problem might be with the power amplifier (PA).  Tom Girardi [WA1YNU] and I hiked to the site, yesterday (Feb. 16), found the controller “apparently” functional, tried to key the repeater directly from the site with no response.  We removed the PA and took it to Allen for diagnosis.  Allen will get to it when he can.  Whatever the problem is, Allen has mentioned a few possible solutions.  All possible solutions will take Allen’s volunteered time and expertise, and will require at least one or more trips back up to the repeater site.  Look for more detail in the upcoming March QFQ and discussion at the March 3^rd CVARC meeting.  73, de KB1NGQ
